What is your first hockey memory?
My first hockey memory was when I received a trophy for being the leading scorer in my league when I was about 8 or 9 years old.

When did you start playing ball hockey/hockey in general?
I started playing dek hockey when I was 4 years old.

If you switched from a different form of hockey (i.e. field hockey, ice hockey), how hard was the transition?
I grew up playing dek hockey so there wasn’t much of a transition.

Are there ball hockey leagues near your home? If so, which one did you grow up playing in?
I grew up playing dek hockey in Leominster, MA and I currently still play there, but there is a ball hockey league about an hour away from me and I go and play there once in a while in tournaments and some league games.

How hard is it to pick up with your team at the USA camps, when you only play with each other every few months?
I haven’t been to a camp this year, but from experience in the U20 juniors it honestly wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. For the most part we all have played with or against each other for a few years now. Every player is picked for a reason and we have a lot of talent, once we’ve played together a few times we can usually start picking up on how each other play and adjust accordingly.

How did you hear about ASHI and the USA Ball Hockey team?
I heard about ASHI when I was about 17-18 yrs. old, when I was asked to play in Czech Republic for the U20 Junior USA Team. It was one of the best feelings being asked to play and I’ll never forget it.

What has been your favorite part of being a part of the USA program thus far?
Everything has been great since I’ve been part of the ASHI organization. The coaches, managers, players, and anyone who has helped have all been great people and I’m glad I got to meet them and share the memories we’ve made.

Did you ever think you would be playing hockey in Europe? (Switzerland)
I never thought I’d get the opportunity to play ball hockey in Europe, but when I was asked in 2012 it was the greatest feeling. I’ve played in the World Junior Ball Hockey championships twice now, but never knew if I’d get the chance to play with the big boys. It is a great feeling making the Men’s teams this year and I can’t wait to get out there and kick some ass.

Have you ever been to Europe? (Switzerland)
I’ve been to Europe twice now. I’ve been to Czech Republic and Slovakia, but I’ve never been to Switzerland. I’m excited to travel again and make more memories with the team.

What is the most exciting thing about playing in a foreign country? (Switzerland)
Everything about playing in a foreign country is exciting! Between everybody whose watching and battling against other countries for the gold!

What are you most looking forward to?
I’m mostly looking forward to winning that gold medal and making memories with the team.

What does representing your country mean to you?
It means a lot to be picked to represent the US. Representing the US is a pretty big deal in a tournament like this. We have to play the best we’ve ever played and leave everything on the rink, going all out.

What is your ultimate goal while being a part of the USA Team?
My goal while I’m on Team USA is to play the best I’ve ever played and to do my job on Defense, which is shutting every other country down. Also my goal and obviously the team’s biggest goal is to come out of the tournament with the gold!
