The Master’s Division has several announcements regarding the upcoming 2018 Master’s World Ball Hockey Championship.

Last year we saw Jamie Cooke retire from the GM role along with assistant Nick Beard. Replacing Mr. Cooke will be Anthony Cillo. Mr. Cillo has a strong background in the sport and a very well respected reputation among the ball hockey community.

Anthony started playing in 1984 with neighborhood kids and transitioned into tournament play. He has played in many of the major tournaments in our sport – Nationals, Internationals, Can Ams, North American Ball Hockey Championship, Super Bowl Bye Week Invitational, World Outdoor Ball Hockey Championship, Holiday Bash and a host of others. Anthony has played on 5 USA National Teams. He captained two of those teams.

Anthony brings a long history in the sport and we feel that he was the right fit for the job. His experience, knowledge of the sport and knowledge of the players in the Master’s division will help keep the program going in the right direction.

Mr. Cillo will work with returning head coach Jay Machin in selecting the Master’s Team USA.

The Master’s program will see two teams again at World’s and Rock Stefan will be returning to the club team as head coach. Mr. Stefan will be organizing his team of coaches as well as selecting his team.

Assisting both Anthony and Rock will be Dave Reaser taking over the behind the scenes tasks that Nick Beard was responsible for. This will be a temporary role for Dave until a permanent assistant is assigned to the job.

The location for the Master’s tournament has not yet been announced. There is a possibility it will be in North America and if not it would be in Europe. As details become available for this will make an announcement to inform all players.

GM Anthony Cillo and Head Coach Jay Machin will use the Master’s tournament hosted by Cool Hockey Events May 19th-21st as a pre-evaluation for Team USA and the club team. Team USA will possibly have an invitational evaluation some time in August or September for Team USA. We will announce dates for any additional evaluations in the future.
