It’s no accident that the congress was taking place in Pardubice. The Czech Ball Hockey Federation showed the candidate city of Pardubice to the congress participants. On Friday they visited the Tipsport Arena and watched an extraleague ice-hockey game between Pardubice and Plzeň. They also met the mayor of Pardubice Martin Charvát and other city councillors, who expressed their significant support to the city’s candidacy: “Pardubice is ready to support this international event and we believe that our city will not only be the city of gingerbread, horses and ice-hockey, but also the city of ball hockey,” said the mayor of Pardubice, Martin Charvát.

The Czech Ball Hockey Federation received further significant support from the Pardubice Region. On Saturday, the president of the Pardubice Region, Martin Netolický, visited the delegation at the congress in Hotel Euro. He arrived shortly after the actual voting that assigned the World Championship’s organization to Pardubice. “I am very glad that the 2017 World Championship will take place in Pardubice. For the Pardubice Region it is a great promotional opportunity,“ the president of the Pardubice Region, Martin Netolický, expressed his satisfaction.

About one thousand players and hundreds of fans from all over the world will come to Pardubice. The last World Championship that took place in the Czech Republic saw record attendances in the arena in Plzeň. We would like to continue with the good work from that tournament and prepare an unforgettable World Championship”, Josef Kozel, the Czech Ball Hockey Federation president, added.
